My Favorite Chain Restaurant

Now I’m sure this is a very debatable topic as everyone out there has a (different) favorite restaurant, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t tell you about mine, and all the while still respect your opinion to disagree.  Just to be clear, I have entitled this my favorite CHAIN restaurant for a reason.  I don’t really feel its fair to compare chains to mom and pops as the atmosphere, the food, the overall experience is just completely different, so for this we will be discussing chains only.  My favorite chain restaurant is the Cheesecake Factory, and I’ll tell you why…

 

  • The Menu:  The sheer magnitude of the menu really says it all.  You could go to this place hundreds and hundreds of times and never have to repeat a dish.  It is one of those all around places where if no one can agree on one style of cuisine, its fine, because they’ve got American, Italian, Chinese, etc.  In fact you could probably go there a hundred times and not even have to order the same drink.
  • The Bread:  Now some people may not think this is important enough to sway someone to love a restaurant but it does.  I don’t even know what kind of bread it is.  I never stopped stuffing my face long enough to ask.  But they have that dark brown oat bread that comes before dinner, and it is fantastic!  The greatest thing is that even though it is one of my favorite things about the restaurant, I seem to forget it exists every time I go until the waiter brings it to the table and its like a little wonderful surprise every time.
  • The Hibachi Steak:  Here’s my only dilemma – the menu has tons of items that I know would be absolutely delicious, however, besides the fact that I haven’t been there enough times to have tried them all, I have gotten hung up on this dish.  It is not just the perfectly marinated sliced steak, but to combo it with wasabi mashed potatoes and tempura fried asparagus, its like they made it just for me.  I could literally eat it every night.
  • The Cheesecake:  Duh!  So you all knew that one was coming, but its good cheesecake, and I grew up near one of the best rated cheesecake bakeries in the US.  But again, it’s the cheesecake variety that puts it over the top.  I still haven’t even tried half of them, and I’ve been there plenty.  I am a chocoholic at heart but for some reason when it comes to Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, I stray from the chocolate.  My personal recommendations are the Key Lime and the Banana Cream.  Plus, one of the best parts is cheesecake to go!  I don’t know about you, but I don’t always leave room for dessert, but that doesn’t stop me from ordering cheesecake every time I go there.

 

So there you have it – my personal take on the best chain restaurant.  I would list additional reasons to try to sway your opinions but my stomach has begun to grumble and I think it needs cheesecake.
